1 :: The clean lines and upbeat pattern of the Bright Concerto Dress from ModCloth make it a great pick to take you from spring in to summer.

2 :: My favorite granola bars are always ones that include dried cherries! I’m dying to make these Cherry Almond Granola Bars from Honey and Jam as my next snack.

3 :: Japanese washi masking tape has been all over the blog world for quite some time now, and I really want to add some to my craft/gift wrapping module. Pretty Tape has some really fun combos in their Etsy store.

4 :: As I’ve been culling through a lot of my belongings thanks to this book, I’m realizing that I’d like to use more interesting containers to store the few useful everyday things that I use. This deco style planter from AMradio would be great for holding paper clips and other small office items.

5 :: Use the lovely weather to go outside and pen a note to one of your favorite people. These free downloads from TocoToco mag would be swell to receive in the mail! (via Creature Comforts).

6 :: I’m a big fan of Jordan Gray’s design for Hidden Pictures’ new album Synchronized Sleeping. The combination of clean, mid-century style illustration with just a little bit of texture and warmth really makes it pop! Plus, that typewriter is darling.

[ps] I just wanted to make note that I don’t actually purchase all the items I post here! Though I do occasionally splurge on some of my favorite “faves,” these posts are a way for me to enjoy and appreciate new things without actually spending any money. It’s like internet window-shopping, plus I get to share it with all of you!

1 :: Shabby Apple recently added a bunch of spring items to their line, and I’m loving this yellow Pina Colada dress.

2 :: Apple and Smoked Mozzarella mini-calzones? Yes please!

3 :: I saw these Angled Nesting Shelves from West Elm featured on Making it Lovely and love them! Such a nice way to add a little whimsy to your walls.

4 :: I always hate second-guessing if my chopped/diced/minced veggies are the right size. This OCD Chef’s Cutting Board would be perfect in fueling my drive for produce perfection.

5 :: I’ve been trying to figure out a good solution for our headboard-less bed, and this fabric headboard DIY from Metal and Mud might just be perfect.

6 :: Jolby’s etsy shop is filled with fun giclée prints like this one, “A Bridge from Me to You.

P.S. Halfway through this post, I realized I totally missed out on doing an “April Fools’” Friday Faves! How much fun would that have been? Ah well, maybe next year!

1 :: It’s getting to that point where my current bag needs to be retired. I’m looking for something comfortable but not too big, preferably brown and faux-leather. The “here’s to new journeys” bag from Ruche seems to fit the bill, although I’ll probably keep scoping out Marshall’s for a while first.

2 :: When I saw Martha Stewart’s Strawberry Cake on Unruly Things earlier this week, I couldn’t believe I hadn’t tried it before. Strawberries + cake — it really doesn’t get much simpler. We’re on the edge of strawberry season here in Florida (as in, it’s almost over!) and this is a great way to put them to sweet use.

3 :: Marlise Kast-Myers’s beautiful green and white bedroom was recently featured on Decor8, and it’s a great bit of inspiration for a budget-conscious room redo. I love the mix of textures and design, and of course I’m always a sucker for vintage metal fans.

4 :: Simon Foster curates a collection of vintage record labels, and they’re such fun to scroll through! While you enjoy the array of designs, be sure to also read the names of the albums and songs–some of them are pretty funny.

5 :: This easy mini-cupcake stand DIY was featured on Papernstitch, and it looks so easy! Such a great idea for a shower or birthday party, and the stands give you plenty of freedom to decorate how you wish. (Oh, and be sure to check out the rest of the party decor–it’s incredible!)

6 :: These coral-inspired brooches from MadeByAnna are beautifully cut from perspex. They’re clean and modern but still a great detail to add to your spring cardigan or jacket!

1 :: Breezy and simple, perfect for these warm days! The McGillicuddy dress from spottedmoth.com.

2 :: After my last post on chicken stock from your crock-pot, this Slowcooker Chicken Soup from Nourished Kitchen is only fitting. Hopefully it will be soothing for those of you dealing with all the allergies and sickness that the change in seasons can bring.

3 :: These Paper Cuts by Joe pretty much blow my mind. An amazing gift for an anniversary, wedding, or whatever. They’d be great framed or in a shadowbox.

4 :: Time to start thinking about spring craft projects! These simple spring napkins from Molly’s Sketchbook are a great way to use up the extra fabric you have hanging around.

5 :: I love all the prints in Handz’ etsy shop, but this mid-century “In the Kitchen” print is my favorite (especially the bright colors and pyrex inspired dishes).

6 :: I’ve been listening to Jeremy Larson’s new album on repeat ever since it came out. So beautiful, and the album artwork is just as inspiring.

1 :: I just recently discovered ASOS, one of the UK’s biggest online fashion retailers. They have a huge selection of clothing, and a great range of pricing. This Pleated Skirt Cute Collar Dress is only $44.83 and is a great way to kick off your spring wardrobe.

2 :: I feel like I’ve been snacking a lot lately–mostly on fruit and nuts, but I’d love to whip up these whole wheat goldfish crackers from Smitten Kitchen.

3 :: The States Motto Project has been featured on a number of design blogs, and it’s a great collaboration. I love checking in to see what new state mottos have been designed! Florida’s motto is fun and sunny, and I can’t wait to see how Michigan’s turns out.

4 :: It’s getting to be permanent sunglass season again. My sunglasses usually hail from Marshall’s (since I’m always losing them), but if I knew I’d keep them around, I’d love a pair of these vintage butterfly sunglasses from MODvintage.

5 :: It really doesn’t get any cuter than these tiny felted acorns from FeltJar. They’d be lovely in a little clay dish or just scattered on a mantle or centerpiece.

6 :: Brilliant! This DIY Chevron Rug only cost $36 ($30 for the IKEA rug) and packs a fun design punch. I wish my IKEA rug was white (and not brown) so I could try it…who knows, maybe with some darker colors, it would turn out just as swell.

1:: The Gap’s spring collection is full of simple, modern shapes. I love the yellow pop of color this comfy pull-on skirt can add to a neutral outfit.

2 :: I’ve always been a big fan of roasted garlic, but roasted shallots? How have I not tried this yet?! Definitely adding Orangette’s Vinegar Roasted Shallots to my list of things to make.

3 :: Elsie from A Beautiful Mess never ceases to inspire me. She and her friends just finished putting together this fun, sixties-inspired video for her new clothing line.

4 :: I never seem to have enough hangers, but if I end up with extras, I’d love to try this ReStyled abstract hanger mobile from Rachel at Smile and Wave.

5 :: The simple lines of this White Mushroom Trinket Dish by ALDdesigns are a perfect balance for the treasures it can hold on your nightstand or dresser.

6 :: MemoryDust is having a huge sale on their prints, including this awesome bicycle piece, printed on old dictionary pages. $5 is such a steal!

1 :: It’s finally (truly) starting to warm up here, and what better way to enjoy the warm weather than in this fun, bright Dolce Vita dress from Ruche

2 :: Last week, we made these Fish Tacos from CuisineNie. They’re super easy, and great when you’ve got extra fish in your freezer. I love the sour cream-lime sauce.

3 :: I was thrilled when I saw Amanda Jane Jones’ work on Design, Work, Life earlier this week. I love her color palettes and (of course) I’m always a fan of encouraging buying local–especially for my home state of Michigan!

4 :: I know Valentine’s Day is over, but any day is a good one to leave these DIY Post-It notes (via Eat Drink Chic) in your sweetheart’s lunch box.

5 :: I feel like I’m always getting book recommendations and then promptly forgetting them. This sweet book journal from Oh My Cavalier has space for 144 books, with room to write about each one. There’s something about the act of actually writing (vs. typing them in to my iPhone) that just seems to suit the written word better.

6 :: Okay, this bowl from Obol might be a little silly, but I think it’s brilliant! I love the idea of eating cookies and milk, or crackers and soup, without them getting soggy.

1 :: Since it’s almost Valentine’s Day, I couldn’t resist picking out a fun red dress for today. The Gull Wing Dress from Anthropologie is just that — sweet and full of Valentine’s Day spirit! It’s a little too pricey for my closet, but hey, a girl can dream.

2 :: Of course, if I’m talking about Valentine’s Day, I might as well mention this drool-worthy Lemon Meringue Ice Cream Pie from Sprouted Kitchen. If you’re going to have sugar, at least make it a quality, decadent dessert (rather than a box of scary drugstore chocolate).

3 :: I love this Antiqued Hand Cut Paper Heart from Polaroid Paper. You could bring it out for birthdays, Christmas, or any other festive “love-ly” holidays. I’d love to try and make something like this myself, but all the cut paper hearts in Polaroid Paper’s etsy shop are already beautifully crafted (and pretty affordable).

4 :: I already took Caleb to a Drive-By Truckers’ concert as an early V-day gift, but if I were going to get him something else, I know he’d love this English Mustard Illustration by Georgina Luck. Ever since he came back from Wales with a tin of the stuff, it’s warmed (no, really–the stuff is insanely spicy) his taste buds. Georgina’s illustrations of food packaging are loose and fun but amazingly accurate.

5 :: If you’re anything like me and have a hard time putting down your iPhone, this Phonekerchief from Uncommon Goods might be a silly surprise for your sweetie. The folks at Uncommon Goods claim that “this innovative, service-blocking hanky is made with silver fibers that effectively block incoming calls and texts.” Or, y’know, you could just turn your phone off. :)

6 :: I really enjoyed reading the premiere issue of  Matchbook Magazine this week. It’s an online-only mag (similar to the likes of Neet) filled with design-oriented interviews, homes, memoirs, fashion, and more. There’s a wonderful interview in this edition with the talented Anna & Nathan Bond (of Rifle Paper Company). It’s free, so give it a read!

1 :: This Creme Daisy Applique dress from Top Shop would be great on a date (say, Valentine’s Day?) with a wrap or sweater and tights, but it’ll also transition nicely in to warmer weather.

2 :: Sunday is the Superbowl (in case you didn’t know), so it’s time to start rounding up some recipes for munching (and avoid buying the case of frozen quesadillas). Pioneer Woman’s Beef Fajita Nachos look incredibly tasty and will definitely keep hungry tv-watchers’ appetites at bay.

3 :: I’m loving this fun promo film from House Industries. They own some of my favorite typefaces, along with a bevy of smartly designed objects and posters. The sign painting and lettering shown in this film blows my mind–I don’t know how they do it!

4 :: If I could put just one thing on my Valentine’s Day wish list, it would be this I Love My City print from Judy Kaufmann. Her illustrations are beautiful, and this print is by far my favorite.

5 :: If you’re looking for a fun DIY project to add a little charming fun to your decor, these coffee filter pom poms from Creature Comforts are perfect! Cheap, simple, and easy–they also make great gift toppers.

6 :: The days are slowly starting to get longer, but there’s still lots of evening darkness floating around (even here in the Sunshine State). Say “Goodnight, Moon” with this embroidered wall art from Jenn Pierce. Her embroidered pieces really make me want to try my hand at embroidery!

Friday Faves, January 28

1 :: The Morning Hour Dress from ModCloth is perfect for layering over tights, then wearing in the spring with sandals. Plus, the solid color is a great base to dress up with color. Best of all? It’s on sale!

2 :: I found this American travel map DIY on Design*Sponge. It’s an older project, but would be so much fun as you start to plan your travels for the year. You can also use it to pinpoint all of the places you’ve visited.

3 :: These fun mid-century tumblers from 5gardinias have such a sparkly mix of foliage and brushed shapes!

4 :: I’ve been enjoying lots of apples lately, and with the continued cold, I want to bake them all! This Mom’s Baked Apple Slices from SimplyRecipes adds a little bit of maple syrup in to really bring out the sweetness (without too much sugar).

5 :: The desk stationary from Dear Hancock is brilliant! There are a number of different desks that fit creative interests (crafty, photography, etc.), as well as a custom one that you can design yourself.

6 :: Even though my wedding was quite a while ago, I’m still excited about the announcement of Anthropologie’s new wedding brand: BHLDN. The site will be launching on February 14th, so be sure to check out the incredibly beautiful things they’re sure to have.
