One Month

At one month, Charlie…

:: is still doing lots of eating, sleeping, and diaper-dirtying, but he’s also having longer periods of awake time. When he’s just chillin, he likes to look at himself in the mirror (hey, he is pretty handsome), wave his arms around, and hold onto Geoffrey (his giraffe friend).

:: enjoys being swung back and forth in his car seat. I know he would love a swing, but it’s silly to get one now since it looks like we’re going to be heading to Wales at the end of February (yes, our sponsorship finally came through)! I might try to find a swing we can borrow for a bit before we leave.

:: loooooves the Moby. He pretty much always falls asleep in it, and we’ve gone on a number of walks to the beach with him happily snuggled up.

:: has actually started to outgrow a few of his newborn outfits (of course, others of them are still pretty baggy).

:: enjoyed his first real bath. He loves floating in the water while we hold him, and even seems to like getting his hair washed!

:: has been called the following by his goofy parents: nugget, pumpkin, chunker, buddy, junior, darlin, bebe…and probably a million more silly things.

:: worn cloth diapers for two whole days (while at home). Now that he’s chunking out a bit, the newborn ones that I borrowed are starting to fit pretty well. We’re moving to a different house this week, but once we get settled again, I’m looking forward to cloth diapering most of the time. It’s been really easy so far, and he seems so much more comfortable in them.

I really can’t believe I have a one month old! It’s gone so quickly already but I’m loving watching him grow from a tiny newborn into a happy baby!
